We've all heard this at one point or another-
If you try your absolute best, you know you did everything you could, and you still fail at something, you didn't really fail at all. I've heard people say that, and I've thought "sure, yeah, that's really comforting".
But you know what? It really is comforting, and it's true. Failing in something doesn't feel bad at all when you've done everything you can. When you have, you kind of start to realize "hmm, maybe the point was the effort, not the outcome."
Oh, and to answer your question- yes, my thoughts are always in quotations in my head.
